COVID-19 Update: India's Active Case Count Nears 6,000, Drop In Fresh Cases

India reported 391 new Covid-19 new cases in the past 24 hours, fewer than the 498 cases that India recorded on Friday. However, the number of recovered patients has also seen a drop. The number of patients who have been discharged over the past 24 hours was recorded at 760, four lesser than Friday.

India's active cases of Covid-19 saw another surge over the past 24 hours, according to data from the Ministry of Health. The number of active Covid-19 cases neared the 6,000 mark over the past 24 hours, data showed on Saturday.

India's number of active Covid-19 cases has increased to 5,755 in the past day, the Covid dashboard of the health ministry revealed.

India reported 391 new Covid-19 new cases in the past 24 hours, fewer than the 498 cases that India recorded on Friday. However, the number of recovered patients has also seen a drop. The number of patients who have been discharged over the past 24 hours was recorded at 760, four lesser than Friday.

As many as four people died due to COVID-related issues over the past day, according to the data. The deaths were reported from Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Maharashtra.

Kerala has recorded 1,806 active cases, Gujarat 717, and Delhi 665. The total number of active cases in the country currently stands at 5,755.

Meanwhile, Maharashtra recorded 86 new coronavirus positive cases, taking the total count since January to 1,362.
