Amaravati: A fresh case was noted in Kadapa on Friday, raising the overall count of cases to two. Andhra Pradesh is on red alert to address any potential increase in Covid-19 cases and has released a general advisory encouraging individuals to exercise caution.

A woman in Visakhapatnam has been confirmed positive for Covid-19, representing the first documented case in the recent period. On Friday, a second instance was noted in Kadapa, which is still pending confirmation.

A high-ranking official from the Directorate of Public Health and Family Welfare stated that the woman is improving and there is no reason to worry.

The government of Andhra Pradesh has released a recommendation in light of increasing COVID-19 worries, asking the public to refrain from large gatherings, such as prayer meetings and social events. They have specifically advised individuals over 60 and pregnant women to remain indoors.

The Director of Public Health and Family Welfare in Andhra Pradesh has urged the community to maintain proper hygiene, which involves frequent handwashing, covering mouths while coughing or sneezing, and refraining from touching the face.

The government of Andhra Pradesh has additionally urged residents to wear masks in high-risk zones, especially in crowded or inadequately ventilated locations.

On Monday, a review meeting consisting of experts from the National Centre for Disease Control, Emergency Medical Relief division, Disaster Management Cell, Indian Council of Medical Research, and central government hospitals was conducted under the leadership of the director general of health services.
