COVID-19: India witnesses marginal hike, logs 17,092 fresh cases & 29 deaths in 24 hours

The nation has reported 14,684 recoveries and the total number of recoveries have rised to 42,851,590.

India has witnessed a marginal hike in its daily COVID-19 cases, with over 17,092 citizens testing positive in the last 24 hours. According to the Union Health Ministry, overall national caseload stands at 43,486,326.

The nation has reported 14,684 recoveries and the total number of recoveries have rised to 42,851,590. While 29 more people have lost their lives, taking the death tally to 5,25,168.

The total number of active patients rose to 1,09,568, which is rised by 2,379. Recoveries, active patients and deaths stand at 98.55%, 0.25%, and 1.21% respectively.

On Friday, Kerala reported the highest number of cases- 3,599, while Maharashtra logged 3,249 cases. Tamil Nadu's case is 2,385, while Karnataka recorded 1,073 infections.

The Metropolitan city has reported 978 fresh Covid cases out of 12,452 samples that tested positive. This has resulted in a 2% drop in the test positivity rate as well. Reportedly, 1,896 people have recovered in a day, while 2 deaths have been reported.
