Kinnaur: A biker had a close shave after a rock suddenly slid down from the mountain and hit his two-wheeler in Himachal Pradesh's Kinnaur. The incident, which took place at Nigulsari area, was captured on camera. Soon, the video went viral on social media on Thursday. The rider fell from his bike.

According to reports, the biker did not suffer any injuries, and his bike was also not damaged in the incident. In the video, it can be seen that a rock suddenly rolled down the mountain and hit the front tyre of his bike. Due to the impact, the biker lost balance and fell.

Locals present on the spot rushed to help the biker. Fortunately, the rider and his bike did not fall into a gorge.

On Wednesday, a cloudburst was also reported in Kinnaur, leading to a flood-like situation. Due to the inclement weather conditions, several sections of the Kinnaur Kailash Yatra route were reportedly damaged. Scary visuals of water gushing downhill and cutting through cliffs surfaced online. Several pilgrims were stranded at the Kinnaur-Kailash Yatra route.

Notably, heavy rains wreaked havoc in the higher altitude regions of Himachal Pradesh in the past few days. According to the State Emergency Operation Centre (SEOC) under the State Disaster Management Authority, a total of 199 people have died as of August 6, including 108 in rain-related disasters and 91 in road accidents.

Out of the 108 fatalities attributed to weather-related disasters, 17 died due to cloudbursts, 20 due to drowning, one by electrocution, 9 from flash floods and 6 in landslides. The rest of the cases are from falls, fire, lightning, and other rain-triggered incidents.

Meanwhile, flash floods triggered by a cloudburst in Uttarkashi's Dharali caused destruction in the region. At least five people lost their lives, while over 100 people are still missing. A rescue operation is currently underway to trace the missing persons.
