Chhattisgarh: NIA Conducts Raid In Highly Naxal-Affected Bijapur District To Expose Urban Naxal Network

Raipur: Sleuths of National Investigation Agency (NIA) carried out raids in 3 places in highly Naxal affected Bijapur district of Chhattisgarh on Thursday morning. The raids were specifically conducted in Bhairamgarh, Tarrem, and Awapalli. The operation aimed to disrupt the supply chain between Naxalites and their urban supporters, as well as to expose the Urban Naxal network.

The NIA team arrived at approximately 5:30 AM. It carried out surprise inspections in several houses.

During the operation, some individuals were questioned and detained on suspicion of involvement in the urban Naxal network, informed the sources.

While this raid is part of ongoing investigations, the NIA has not issued an official statement, yet.

Moreover, a week ago, the NIA conducted raids in Sukma and the nearby Malkangiri district in Odisha, resulting in the detention of several individuals on Naxal-related charges.
