Prime Minister Narendra Modi, reaffirming his commitment to infrastructure and sustainable development, inaugurated and laid the foundation for multiple projects worth over Rs 33,700 crore in Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh. On the auspicious occasion of Navratri and the New Year, he emphasized Chhattisgarh’s spiritual significance as the land of Mata Mahamaya and Mata Kaushalya’s maternal home. He acknowledged the devotion of the Ramnami Samaj and extended his greetings to the people of the state.
Modi highlighted the projects spanning housing, education, transportation, and energy sectors, aimed at improving public convenience and generating employment. He noted the special joy in providing homes to three lakh poor families, a long-delayed promise that his government has fulfilled. He credited the achievement to public trust in his leadership and the efficient implementation of policies under Vishnu Deo’s guidance, with 18 lakh houses planned and three lakh already completed, particularly benefiting tribal communities in Bastar and Surguja.
The Prime Minister stressed that these homes are not mere structures but transformative assets, built with facilities like toilets, electricity, and piped water, ensuring dignity and security for beneficiaries. He acknowledged the significant role of women in these initiatives, as most homes are registered in their names, marking a milestone in women’s empowerment.
He underscored the economic benefits of these projects, creating employment for local artisans, masons, and small business owners. He highlighted the government's commitment to fulfilling promises, including bonus payments to paddy farmers and increased MSP rates. Criticizing the previous government for corruption in recruitment and infrastructure, he noted his administration’s focus on transparency and efficiency, leading to electoral successes across Chhattisgarh.
Celebrating the 25th anniversary of Chhattisgarh’s statehood and the birth centenary of Atal Bihari Vajpayee, he reiterated the commitment to the state’s development under the "Atal Nirman Varsh" initiative. He emphasized efforts to improve connectivity, with Rs 40,000 crore invested in rail projects and major strides in electrification and gas infrastructure. He introduced the ‘PM Suryagarh Muft Bijli Scheme’ to promote solar energy, reducing electricity costs for households.
Addressing security and development in tribal areas, he noted his government’s efforts in healthcare, education, and economic empowerment, contrasting it with previous neglect. Initiatives like the PM Janman Yojana and tribal development programs are transforming lives in remote regions. Expressing optimism about Chhattisgarh’s future, he praised the progress in education, particularly through PM Shri Schools and Eklavya Model Schools, ensuring better opportunities for the next generation.
