Raipur: India’s most wanted dreadful Naxal commander Madvi Hidma, a suspected Covid positive patient, was offered an opportunity to give up arms, and surrender; police will provide him full treatment, a senior police official said.
Hidma and other top cadre Maoist leaders were offered to surrender, and police will facilitate them full treatment.
The offer of medical treatment came amid confirmation of news that CPI Maoist Central Committee Member(CCM) Haribhusan alias Yapa Narayana, Indravati Area Committee member (IACM) Siddaboina Sarakka alias Bharatakka died of Covid related infections.
A statement released by the CPI Maoist Telangana State Committee on Thursday said, CCM Haribhusan and IACM Siddaboina Sarakka alias Bharatakka died on June 21 and June 22 respectively due to Covid-19 infection.
Sukma resident, Hidma born in 1981, a shadowy, almost mythical and most dangerous commander of the People's Liberation Guerilla Army (PLGA) Battalion number 1 and a member of the Dandakaranya Special Zonal Committee (DKSZC), accused of killing of more than 100 of security forces jawans was reported Covid 19 infected and seriously ill along with other barbaric Maoist leaders.
According to Bastar Police, other CPI Maoists leaders who were infected with Covid 19 virus and running seriously ill were Vinod, Sonu, Jaiman, Nandu and others.
The pandemic situation in Naxal camps is quite alarming and very serious in nature, said Sundarraj P, Inspector General of Police Bastar Range.
Therefore, for their own safety and the safety of the poor tribal villagers, the senior Maoist cadres must give real information about their own health to the local public.
By giving up their arms if they surrender Police will help them in getting full treatment and be part of the mainstream of development, the IG said.
Earlier, in the first fortnight of May 2021, when police flashed the information several Naxal leaders were Covid infected and their health condition deteriorating the CPI Maoist ridiculed this information issuing a hasty press release on May 25, Bastar Police said.
