The offer of medical treatment came amid confirmation of news that CPI Maoist Central Committee Member(CCM) Haribhusan alias Yapa Narayana, Indravati Area Committee member (IACM) Siddaboina Sarakka alias Bharatakka died of Covid related infections.

A statement released by the CPI Maoist Telangana State Committee on Thursday said, CCM Haribhusan and IACM Siddaboina Sarakka alias Bharatakka died on June 21 and June 22 respectively due to Covid-19 infection.

By giving up their arms if they surrender Police will help them in getting full treatment and be part of the mainstream of development, the IG said.

Earlier, in the first fortnight of May 2021, when police flashed the information several Naxal leaders were Covid infected and their health condition deteriorating the CPI Maoist ridiculed this information issuing a hasty press release on May 25, Bastar Police said. However, after the demise of Naxal leader Haribhusan, Senior DKZSC cadres Sobhrai, Ganga and Bharatakka, the Covid situation in Maoist camps and their stand was exposed, the senior police official said.
