Raipur: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has become Aatmnirbhar (self-dependent) by establishing links with terrorists, alleged Pawan Khera, Communication Department Chief, All India Congress Committee’s (AICC).

The AICC leader who was addressing a press conference in Raipur at Congress State headquarters Rajiv Bhavan on Saturday said, "BJP not only enjoys good relations with terrorists but also nurture them by providing shelter. Terrorist were provided tickets to contest elections, were made office-bearers of the party."

"Mohammed Riyaz Attari who brutally murdered Tailor Kanhaiya Lal in Udaipur, was a member of BJP. It is a matter of concern for our nation and we all that a ruling party has connections with the individuals who have indulged in heinous crimes and terror acts," he added.

"The Congress party refrains to do politics over the serious issues like terrorism but established terrorist's connections were found with the ruling party. The murder of Kanhaiya Lal, was a terrorist and an active member of BJP. Besides, two Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorists were arrested in Jammu recently, one of them Talib Hussain is an office-bearer of the BJP, whose photo was seen with Union Home Minister Amit Shah. The photo was taken in the presence of 20 people in a room, even if the Home Minister did not know that one of them was a terrorist, then it is serious intelligence failure. And if the Home Minister is aware about it then he must answer the nation," Khera said.

Khera further added that Irfan Khan, who was allegedly involved in the killing of chemist Umesh Kolhe in Amravati, had campaigned for MP Navneet Kaur Rana.

DySP Davinder Singh was caught red-handed with the terrorist but no action was taken against him, he said.

Khera also countered former Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh’s statement that in public life, one’s photo can be taken with any prominent leader and said: "Does BJP distribute membership, post and certificate by mere walking? Was the party's gamcha bestowed publicly on stage by giving a missed call?"

"People like Dr Raman Singh who were not taken seriously within the party were put in front to talk gibberish. He must read a little before opening his mouth," Khera taunted.

Notably, Dr Raman Singh had earlier mentioned that anybody can be photographed with a national leader while walking and get BJP membership by giving a missed call.
