Raipur: Chhattisgarh Pradesh Congress Committee (CPCC) has finally announced the names of its candidates for mayoral positions in for the civic body polls. Including the most prominent positions such as Raipur and Durg Municipal Corporations.
In the context, Dipti Pramod Dubey has been given ticket as a Congress candidate for the post of Mayor (general-female) for Raipur Municipal Corporation (RMC). Meanwhile, Premlata Poshan Sahu has been fielded as the Congress party candidate for the post of Mayor (OBC) for Durg Municipal Corporation (DMC).
For the other positions names are mentioned as Malkit Singh Gaindu for Jagdalpur (general), Dr. Vinay Jaiswal for Chirmiri, Ajay Tirkery for Ambikapur (ST), Janki Katju for Raigarh (SC), Usha Tiwari for Korba (general-female), Pramod Nayak for Bilaspur (OBC), Vijay Golchha for Dhamtari (general), and Nikhil Dwivedi for Rajnandgaon (general).
The party has also announced candidates for 40 out of 49 municipal councils, including Prabha Patel (Manendragarh-OBC-female), Kusumlata Rajwade (Surajpur-OBC-female), Kripa Shankar (Balrampur-ST), and others.
Nominations for civic polls in 173 bodies, including 10 municipal corporations and 49 councils, are open until January 28.
