Faridabad: A 30-year-old delivery boy working with Zepto collapsed and died of a suspected heart attack while on duty in Haryana’s Faridabad district.

The incident, which took place outside the Zepto store in Bhataula village on July 29, was captured on CCTV. The company has since agreed to provide financial support to the bereaved family.

Sudden Collapse Caught on Camera

The deceased, Vikal Singh, a resident of Sadpura village, had been working with Zepto for around a year. On the afternoon of the incident, he was seen sitting on a chair outside the store with friends. As one of them got up and began to walk away, Vikal suddenly collapsed. His friends rushed him to a nearby private hospital, but doctors declared him dead on arrival.

According to doctors, the initial cause of death appears to be a heart attack. “The cause of death of Vikal Singh is being considered as a heart attack in the initial investigation. However, the full confirmation will be done only after the post-mortem report comes,” Khedi Pul police station in-charge Naresh Kumar said, as quoted by News18.

Zepto Offers Financial Assistance To Family

Vikal was the only earning member of his family, which includes his wife and two daughters aged eight and five. Following the incident, family members staged a protest outside the Zepto store, demanding accountability and support.

Zepto has agreed to provide Rs 5 lakh as insurance support and has already handed over Rs 30,000 in cash for funeral expenses. “An insurance payment of Rs 5 lakh has been agreed between the company and the family,” said the station in-charge. Until the insurance is disbursed, the company will also provide Rs 10,000 per month to the deceased’s wife as interim assistance.
