A man wearing a helmet set a parked car on fire outside a house in the Apna Ghar colony located on Delhi Road in the Nagar Kotwali area of Hapur district, Uttar Pradesh. After committing the act, the man fled towards Delhi Road. CCTV footage of the incident is now viral on social media, sparking outrage among local residents. The car owner has filed a complaint with the police regarding the matter.

According to reports, the car owner is Devendra Singh Meena, a resident of Rajasthan, who works as a Field Officer at the Canara Bank branch in the village of Upaida. He stated that he resides as a tenant in the house of Rajeev Gupta, a resident of Apna Ghar colony. On Monday night, he had parked his car outside the house. A short while later, a man wearing a helmet approached the car, looked around, and then set the vehicle on fire before fleeing the scene. The arsonist was captured on a CCTV camera installed in the street. After setting the car on fire, the accused drove away towards Delhi Road.

Residents of the area had previously submitted a memorandum to the ASP regarding rising incidents in the locality. According to reports, the police had assured residents that patrolling would be increased. CO Jitendra Kumar Sharma stated that the accused would be identified using CCTV footage and appropriate action would be taken.
