A low-intensity country-made bomb exploded in the office of the public prosecutor at Patna Civil Court on Friday injuring an assistant sub-inspector of police, Madan Kumar.

According to the senior SP of Patna MSDhillon, a team of Kadamkuan police station had taken the explosives to be produced as exhibit before the chief judicial magistrate court.

The bomb exploded when the police officer put the material on the table. SSP said the explosion might have taken place due to the impact of heat in the room.

The police officer who received wounds in his right hand was discharged after primary aid at Patna Medical College hospital.

Upon raiding the rooms of Patel Hostel here, Kadamkuan police recovered explosives and arrested six inmates. The arrested persons are suspected to be involved in the anti-Agnipath agitation last week.

Late Friday evening, a bomb disposal squad of Patna police reached civil court and took possession of the remaining explosives for disposal.
