Patna: As the Bihar Assembly Elections 2025 are drawing closer, the political atmosphere in the state has started to heat up. On Friday, Leader of Opposition (LoP) in the state Legislative Council, Rabri Devi, hit out at Deputy Chief Minister of the state, Samrat Choudhary. While speaking to reporters, the RJD leader alleged that Choudhary used to harass girls while sitting on a road before joining politics.

'Bachchpan se hum dekhe hain unko.... Boring Road pe Ladkiyaan Chhedte the. (I have known him since childhood... he used to do hooliganism at Boring Road. He used to harass girls at Boring Road)," Devi said, targeting the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader.

Rabri Devi's Remark:

When asked about the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) report highlighting the failure by the Bihar Government to submit utilisation certificates for projects worth Rs 70,877 crore, the RJD leader said that it was a corruption and the state and the Centre are involved in it.

"The people of Bihar understand that it was corruption. Since 2014, when Narendra Modi came to power, scams have been taking place in the country," Devi added.

Rabri Devi's remarks came a day after a heated debate in the state assembly between Tejashwi Yadav and Choudhary. When Yadav questioned the filing of FIR against a journalist who alleged that BLOs were signing forms themselves during the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) ahead of the Bihar polls, Choudhary called Tejashwi Yadav's father Lalu Prasad a "criminal".

Nitish Kumar Slams Tejashwi Yadav:

Earlier this week, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar slammed RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav during the Bihar Assembly session. Kumar claimed that his party Janata Dal United (JDU) broke the alliance with the RJD as Yadav's party was not performing well in the government.

Yadav targeted the ruling JDU-BJP alliance over the special intensive revision of electoral rolls in the state ahead of the Bihar Assembly Elections 2025. Kumar interrupted the RJD leader and talked about the condition of the state during the time when his parents were in power.

"When you were young, your father remained chief minister for seven years, and your mother was chief minister for seven years. What was the situation that time?," Kumar stated.

The assembly elections in Bihar are scheduled to take place later this year. However, the Election Commission of India (ECI) has not yet announced the poll dates.
