Bengaluru: A parent of one of the deceased in the tragic stampede that claimed 11 lives near the M Chinnaswamy Stadium on June 4 during the RCB victory parade, has registered a police complaint on Thursday alleging theft of gold ornaments from the victim's body.
The mother of 15-year-old Divyanshi has alleged that her earrings were stolen during the post-mortem, according to India Today. The theft allegedly happened inside the autopsy section.
Divyanshi’s mother, Ashwini, has filed an FIR at the Commercial Street police station, claiming that several personal belongings, including earrings, clothes, and shoes, were missing after the autopsy.
According to news agency ANI, the complainant has requested an investigation into the missing valuables, which were reportedly intact when the body was taken to the post-mortem facility but were unaccounted for when it was handed back to the family.
“We are not asking for all the items. All we want is just her earrings,” Ashwini was qouted saying by the media.
Ashwini also revealed the importance of the earings for the family.“They were gifted by family members and held deep emotional value for her. She always wore them. We lost our daughter, but we are still living with her memories. These earrings were a part of that,” she added. Divyanshi was fondly called Dimple by her family members.
