Bengaluru: A distressing video has been gaining traction on social media where a delivery boy was mercilessly hit by the staff of Gabru Bistro and Cafe located near Hesaraghatta Road which is Opposite Sapthagiri Hospital in Bengaluru, for asking them to understand the urgency of his awaited order.
According to the details posted by a X page, Karnataka Portfolio (@karnatakaportf), the delivery for the food was being delayed by so the anxious customer kept repetitively calling the delivery boy asking him about the status of their order.
According to the post's long caption addressing the incident in detail, the eyewitnesses present at the scene said that the delivery boy was waiting for a long time to receive his delivery item. After receiving multiple calls from the customer the delivery boy politely asked the cafe staff to hurry up the order understanding the urgency of it.
Instead of accepting his polite request, the staff of the Gabru Bistro and Cafe brutally started to verbally and physically abuse the delivery boy while they hit and drag him across the cafe.
The page has also requested strict action against the people responsible for the assault of the delivery boy while tagging the official X accounts of Zomato (@zomato), Banglore police (@BlrCityPolice), @blrcitytraffic and other officials.
In the video posted by the X page, the time stamp on CCTV footage unfolds the whole incident that took place in late evening at 10 PM on Sunday, February 2. The video shows that the fight broke out between the delivery boy and one of the cafe staff after which other staff intervened the fight making it even more brutally physical. The delivery boy is seen dragged across while the punches are being thrown at him by the staff in front of the customers. Other delivery boys were also present nearby and tried to intervene and stop the fight.
The post has received reply from the official X page of the Bengaluru police stating that the authorities have addressed the complaint and forwarded it to the responsible officials. "We have forwarded your complaint to concerned police officers @DCPNorthBCP @acpyeshwantpura @soladevahallips for necessary action."
