New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, speaking about the four-day military conflict with Pakistan following Operation Sindoor, said that Pakistan had begged in front of India for a ceasefire.

"Jab itna kada prahar hua, Pakistan ne kabhi socha tak nahin tha. Tab Pakistan ne DGMO ke samne phone karke guhar lagayi, 'Bas karo, bohot maara. Ab zyada maar jhelne ki taqat nahi hai. Please humla rok do.' Ye Pakistan ke DGMO ka phone tha," he said.

This roughly translates to: "Pakistan had never imagined such a strong strike. They called our DGMO, begging: 'Please stop, you’ve hit us hard. We can’t endure any more. Please stop the attack.' This was a call from Pakistan’s DGMO."

"We had made very clear from the very start that we would not escalate," he added.

PM Modi started his speech saying, "I am standing before this gathering with victory in mind, to present India’s position with strength and clarity. And to those who fail to see India's side (referring to Opposition leaders), I am here to hold up a mirror. Honourable Speaker, I am here to echo the voice and sentiments of 140 crore Indians."

PM Modi clarified that no country or leader in the world stopped India from taking action in self-defence. India had achieved its targets, which is why it decided to stop the conflict. He also said, only three out of 193 countries had backed Pakistan.

Told US VP JD Vance, Would Respond To Bullets With Bombs

PM Modi said, US Vice President JD Vance tried to contact him for an hour. “When I called back, he warned of a major Pakistani attack. I replied, “If that’s their plan, they’ll pay dearly… We will respond to bullets with bombs,” he said.
