As per reports from Ayodhya Samachar, he woman was found in a critical condition on the day after when she was abandoned by her family. There are reports that she later died during treatment at the Darshan Nagar Medical College.

What Happened?

Around 2 AM, two women and one man arrived in an e-rickshaw near Darshan Nagar Medical College. According to witnesses and CCTV footage, they got down from the vehicle, helped the elderly woman lie down on the roadside, and quickly left the spot without saying anything. One of the women briefly turned back to look at her face before leaving.

The road was completely deserted and dark at the time. The woman, unable to speak or move, lay there unnoticed for hours.

The woman was found lying by the roadside at around 10 AM after which the locals informed the Darshan Nagar police outpost. Police rushed to the spot and immediately shifted her to the trauma center at Darshan Nagar Medical College.

She was found in very poor health, unable to walk, talk or respond. There was a deep wound on her neck, suspected to be caused by cancer. Despite the doctors' efforts, the woman passed away later in the evening.

Police Action

Police said that they and the hospital staff tried their best to help the woman purely out of humanitarian concern. They confirmed that the injury on her neck appeared to be caused due to cancer.

The police reviewed the CCTV footage from the area, but the darkness and distance made it difficult to clearly identify the e-rickshaw or the individuals who abandoned her. The police have initiated a search operation to trace the woman’s family or relatives.

The CCTV footage of the incident was shared on social media with the caption, "Residents of Ayodhya, please identify this Ammaji so that the police can reach her family. This Amma is unable to speak.
