A young man from Muzaffarnagar, identified as Aabad Shah, was arrested after posting a controversial WhatsApp status demanding the arrest of Sambhal Circle Officer (CO) Anuj Chaudhary.

According to reports, Aabad posted a WhatsApp status featuring a picture of CO Anuj Chaudhary with the message: "Bakra Eid comes only once a year. If someone feels that seeing meat and blood corrupts their faith, they should stay indoors." He included the hashtag #ArrestAnujChaudhary in his post.

Police reportedly detained Aabad immediately after his post went viral and released the video of him issuing a public apology while in custody.

In the apology video, Aabad states: "I am a resident of Kamalpur village. I apologize for the comment I made about the Circle Officer. This mistake will not happen again. I respect the police department. Please forgive me."

Sambhal CO Anuj Chaudhary had strirred controversy after in a statement he said, "My straightforward message is that Jumma comes 52 times a year, but Holi comes only once a year. If Muslim community members feel their religion is corrupted by Holi colours, they should not leave home that day. If they do go out, they should have a big enough heart to accept that everyone is equal."
