Congress' general secretary incharge of Rajasthan Ajay Makan had recently claimed that all is well in Rajasthan Congress but a new development is suggesting that still all is not well in the party and a new round of infighting is about to start.
The independents supporting the government and BSP-turned-Congress MLAs have joined hands and decided to hold a meeting on June 23rd. Reports say that they will demand to fulfil the promise made to them during the political crisis of the government last year.
The BSP MLA's who switched over to Congress had recently demanded cabinet expansion and said had we not supported the government, Congress would have been celebrating the first death anniversary of the same. Now 13 independent MLAs who were silent on the issue till now are also joining the BSP MLAs. Reports say that all these 19 MLAs will pass a resolution reminding the party of their promise.
Sources in the party say that this new development is the result of Ajay Makan's statement who not only claimed everything is in control in the party but also termed Sachin Pilot an asset to the party.
It is to note that all these 13 independent MLAs are loyalist of Ashok Gehlot and there is feeling in them that party high command seem to be listening to the faction that had put government in crisis while those who supported in crisis are being left aside. So to counter the dissidents, they have decided to put pressure on the party to give priority to them.
Notably there was a war of words last week between BSP MLAs and Pilot loyalists on the issue of loyalty to the party and strong allegations were put against each other and now it semms that the proposed meeting will start a fresh chapter of infighting in Rajasthan Congress.
