Jaipur: Two leaders, two parties and supporters of both are extending a parallel hand to their parties to the needy in this trying time of the pandemic. Some very interesting similarities can be seen in these ‘efforts’ of helping people and have become a matter of discussion in political circles.
These leaders are Sachin Pilot in Congress and Vasundhra Raje in BJP. Both are believed to be alienated in their respective parties, but their supporters are doing everything to keep them in the league.
Supporters of Sachin Pilot, the former state party president are running a social media helpline ‘Pilot With People’ which has become quite popular with 24,000 people following it, whereas his party is also running a helpline from the party office which is known to be Congress party’s helpline. Sources in the party say that 'Pilot With People' is entirely a program of Pilot and his supporters including some MLAs, although all of them are Congress workers but they are associated with Pilot who is believed to be the leader of the ‘other’ faction of the party.
The almost same thing can be seen in Rajasthan BJP. Former Chief Minister and party’s national vice president Vasundhra Raje’s supporters are running ‘Vasundhra Jan Rasoi’ in many districts of the state. Many leaders believed to be Raje’s diehard supporters including some MLAs are supporting these Rasois. Like Sachin’s helpline, these kitchens are also running with the name and picture of Raje only and Raje is also believed to a leader of other faction of the her party. The only difference is that Raje’s party is not running a kitchen but a helpline.
This helping hand of both the leaders has somewhat stirred both the parties as a large number of supporters are associated with this including some MLAs and it is also being seen as a show of strength. There is a buzz that with this both the leaders have shown that they have a large support base among workers, despite efforts of alienation in their respective parties.
