A man from Madhya Pradesh was lured by a woman from Uttar Pradesh into a fake marriage after seeing him in a viral reel. The deceased has been identified as Indra Kumar Tiwari, a resident of Madhya Pradesh's Jabalpur. His body was recovered on June 6 from a drain in the Hata area of Uttar Pradesh’s Kushinagar, reported India Today.

Sahiba Bano was allegedly the mastermind behind Kumar's murder. During a spiritual discourse by Guru Aniruddhacharya Maharaj, the victim expressed his pain to the spiritual leader about not getting married even at 45 years of age. He further said that he had 18 acres of land and no one was there to take care of his property. After his clip went viral, Banu allegedly hatched a plan to trap Indra Kumar.

Bano contacted the victim on social media. She introduced herself as Khushi Tiwari and even showed a fake Aadhaar card to Kumar. She then proposed to him to marry and the victim accepted her proposal.

"The man reached Gorakhpur and the two got married. His body was found days later. It is suspected that the woman and her associates killed him and escaped with some jewellery and cash that he was carrying," Kushinagar Superintendent of Police (SP) Santosh Kumar said as reported by NDTV. The man had also told his family about the marriage.

However, hours after the marriage, Indra Kumar was allegedly murdered by Bano. His body with a knife stuck in his neck was found in the Hata Kotwali area in Kushinagar. Before the murder, she made the victim sign an affidavit that after his death, his property would belong to her.

The accused then gave him sleeping pills and repeatedly killed him. Bano ran away with Kumar's money and jewellery. Bano was later arrested by police.

A manhunt operation has been launched to nab Bano's accomplices in hatching the conspiracy. A detailed investigation has been initiated into the matter.
