New Delhi: Three schools in the national capital were placed on alert on Monday, July 14, after receiving bomb threats via e-mails. In the wake of the threat, the school authorities sent their students back home.

These schools were reportedly Navy Children School in Chanakyapuri, CRPF School in Dwarka and an as‑yet‑unnamed institution in Rohini, the Delhi Police told news agency IANS.

According to the report, bomb‑disposal squads, sniffer dogs and the fire department swept the campuses; however, they found no suspicious objects in the initial checking.

Speaking about the same, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Dwarka) Ankit Singh said, “Early on Monday morning, Dwarka North police station received a PCR call at around 8:00 am, informing about bomb threat at CRPF School here. The area was promptly sanitised. Local police, sniffer dogs and bomb disposal squads reached the school and conducted due checks.”

"Security has been tightened in the school. Nothing suspicious has been found so far," he added, as quoted by The Hindu.

Schools Under SOP Mandate to Handle Bomb Threats

Following court directions, Delhi’s Directorate of Education in May issued a 115-point SOP to guide schools in handling bomb threats. Applicable to government, aided, minority and private schools, the SOP mandates regular mock drills, surveillance, access control, and clear evacuation routes. It emphasises treating every threat as real, with school heads coordinating emergency responses alongside police and disaster services.

The SOP outlines four stages: prevention, preparedness, response and recovery. It requires post-incident counselling and a return to classes only after safety checks.

Meanwhile, officials have said that the search operation is still ongoing and the threats are being traced.
