A 25-year-old man was brutally tortured to death in Uttar Pradesh's, allegedly by a married couple who accused him of forcing the wife into a physical relationship and blackmailing them for money and jewellery.
The victim, identified as Anish alias Sameer, a resident of Laxmangunj Baris Nagar Noori Masjid, sold clothes as a street vendor. On Saturday night, the accused couple allegedly lured him to their home in Laxmangunj Asharfi Chowk. There, he was beaten mercilessly, his teeth were pulled out with pliers, and his legs struck with screwdriver. Severely injured, he was rushed to a community health centre but succumbed to his injuries during treatment.

Before his death, Anish reportedly told police that the couple had called him to their home and attacked him. During interrogation, the husband claimed that Anish had befriended his wife three years ago under the pretext of recharging her phone. He allegedly forced her into a sexual relationship and extorted cash and valuables, causing the couple social humiliation. Frustrated, they allegedly plotted to kill him.
However, Anish’s family disputes this account, alleging he was killed over a Rs 7 lakh loan he had given to the accused. His father, Mustakim, claimed, “They broke his hands and legs, stripped him, and murdered him after calling him to their home.”
Additional Superintendent of Police Rajesh Kumar Srivastava confirmed that both accused have been arrested, a murder case has been registered, and they have confessed to the crime.
