Two people were killed and three others injured after a clash broke out during a panchayat meeting called to resolve a dispute between a man and his wife in Telangana’s Peddapalli district on Tuesday.

The victims have been identified as Gandla Ganesh and Motam Mallesh, who succumbed to severe injuries in the attack.

The incident reportedly took place in Suglampalli village of Sultanabad mandal in Peddapalli district, Telangana.

Shocking visuals from the incident site have surfaced on social media, showing a severely injured man, with blood oozing from his wounds, being rushed to a vehicle to be taken to hospital.

According to reports, the clash erupted when elders from both sides were holding a reconciliation meeting. Both sides attacked each other with sharp weapons.

The visuals show over a hundred people at the panchayat site.

The husband’s side alleged that the woman’s relatives had brought hired killers to the meeting. People from the woman’s side fled the scene after the incident, as per reports.

After being alerted, police arrived at the panchayat site, and an investigation into the matter is ongoing.
