New Delhi: Reacting to public prosecutor Rohini Salian affidavit, Former Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader and senior advocate H.S. Phoolka on Tuesday said strict action should be taken against the officer who dispelled the impression of India being selective in cases of terrorism. Phoolka described Salian’s affidavit as a very serious matter.

“It shows that India has been selective in the cases of terrorism. She has disclosed the name of the officer. Strict action should be taken against that officer to dispel that impression that India is being selective in the cases of terrorism, otherwise, the world will think that in one category of terrorism India is going very strong, while in the other category of cases of terrorism, looking at the culture, race, or the religion of the victims, India will decide whether to take it seriously or not to take it seriously,” Phoolka said.

Sacked Special Public Prosecutor Rohini Salian named a National Investigation Agency (NIA) official who asked her to go soft on the accused in the Malegon blast case. In an affidavit filed with the Bombay High Court, Salian named Superintendent of Police Suhas Warkel, and said he allegedly pressured her to go slow against the accused in the case.

In the 2008 Malegaon blast case, 12 persons, including Sadhvi Pragya Singh Thakur and Colonel Prasad Shrikant Purohit, were arrested. Of these 12, four are on bail.
