President hosts ‘at home’ for freedom fighters on 73rd anniversary of Quit India Movement

New Delhi: President Pranab Mukherjee hosted an ‘at home’ reception for freedom fighters on the occasion of the 73rd anniversary of the Quit India Movement. On the occasion, the President honoured and felicitated freedom fighters from across the country in the presence of the Vice President Mohammad Hamid Ansari; Prime Minister Narendra Modi; Speaker of Lok Sabha Sumitra Mahajan; former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh; Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh and other dignitaries. Vasantha Vasudeva Gurjara Bondre from Karnataka, who celebrated his 100th birthday yesterday, was specially greeted by the President and other dignitaries. A special gift was also presented to him by the President.
