Srinagar:  Security forces unearthed a militant hideout in forests of Kupwara district in Kashmir and recovered a cache of arms and ammunition after three days of search.

Army and Police launched a search operation in Haphruda forests of Kupwara on May 5 following information about a militant hideout in the area, a defence spokesman said today.

He said the security forces yesterday found a militant hideout and recovered a cache of arms and ammunition.

The recoveries included one pistol, three magazines, 12 Chinese grenades, two binoculars, two compasses, three rounds of RPG, two 60mm bombs, one wireless set and other administrative stores.
