Mumbai : The Sheena Bora murder case gets murkier by the day. It has now come to light that the prime accused in the sensational but complex murder case, Indrani Mukerjea, had conspired with a Kolkata-based ‘agent’ to allegedly eliminate her and Siddhartha Das’s son, Mikhail Bora. While tight-lipped cops in Mumbai did not share any information on this, a source in Kolkata reveals, one Sujit Sarkar, who plays an important role in a private security agency, has been now picked up from a Kolkata suburb by sleuths from Mumbai and brought in the city for ‘further investigation.’
While the man in question, Sujit, has been reported ‘missing’ by his colleagues at the Beliaghata Road office since Friday, sources say he was escorted to Mumbai by a Khar police team for ‘sharing knowledge in the investigation.’ However, one of the colleagues of Sujit, Arnab Roy told Free Press Journal on Saturday evening that Sujit indeed has been ‘picked up’ by the cops at least a day back. “I am not sure whether Sujitda has been arrested or simply helping the police in the case. Last I saw him in the office on Wednesday and since then I have not seen him here. I am told by his family members that he was taken to Mumbai by a police team in connection with the Indrani Mukerjea case and we do not have any further information shared by the police, be it the local ones or the cops in Mumbai,” Roy told this newspaper while attending to one of the mobile numbers listed as Shark Security numbers on a popular yellow page.
“Categorically in the remand application filed on Saturday, the probe agency mentioned that the conspiracy of killing Mikhail was hatched by Indrani in Kolkata and may be this Sarkar guy can enlighten the police or he may even be a suspect. There has to be reasons that he has been taken to Mumbai in connection with the case,” said a source. “We are getting two different pictures here. His family members claim that he has been detained by Mumbai Police or in office, there are lot of other speculations about his sudden disappearance. I am not sure whom should I believe at this moment,” said Roy, his colleague in Kolkata. Sarkar could not be reached on his mobile phone in spite of several attempts by Free Press Journal on Friday and Saturday. Sarkar is engaged as the private ‘commando’ for one of the top businessmen in Kolkata and it has been learnt that the probe agency found his number from the call record of one of the persons in the Mukerjea family which might have led to Sarkar being questioned. “We suspect that he has been taken to some undisclosed location in Mumbai late on Friday for questioning. But there is no official confirmation yet,” said a source. As per legal guidelines, any person can be questioned in connection with a criminal case already registered and it is not necessary the person questioned can be an accused or even a suspect.
