Kochi: Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode (IIMK), in association with MegaPink – a multicity run promoted by Pinkathon, India’s first and largest women’s 10km running event, will be organising a 3 km run on Nov 24 at Mananchira square in Kozhikode.
The run will commence at 6.30 am, an IIMK press release said.
The marathon’s objective is to promote healthy lifestyle and fitness for women.
The Calicut Marathon Committee of IIM Kozhikode collaborated with MegaPink to launch the Calicut chapter.
Over the past four years, IIM Kozhikode’s flagship event, Calicut Marathon, is unique as it is being organized to promote a social cause focusing on critical issues of women empowerment, rights of differently-abled people and waste management in the past.
The main motto of MegaPink is, ‘Never Give Up!’ The marathon will be held simultaneously in 40 cities across India and is promoted by celebrities such as Milind Soman and Gul Panag, the run seeks to further the cause of women’s fitness with special emphasis on raising awareness on breast cancer.
MegaPink is open to both men and women, the participants will receive a T-shirt and a finisher certificate, the release said.
