New Delhi:  Congress general secretary Digvijay Singh on Tuesday rejected exit poll predictions of BJP-led NDA win in the 2014 general elections, and urged media to avoid making preconceived conclusions before May 16.

“In a country of 800 million voters how can a few lakh sample size surveys  predict the result ? Let’s wait for 16 th May,” Singh tweeted.

Meanwhile, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Shahnawaz Hussain said he was confident about the BJP forming  the next government on its own.

“Don’t think we will need more allies, but still as Narendrabhai said ‘sabka saath, sabka vikas’, we are ready to acquire support from any party,” Hussain said.

The reactions from both national parties came a day after almost all exit polls predicted a BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) win.
