Rajahmundry: Andhra Pradesh Minister for Forest B Gopala Krishna Reddy today said the state government will provide full assistance to worst-hit districts of Visakhapatnam and Srikakulam by cyclone ‘Hudhud’ that hit the Andhra coast four days ago.

Speaking to reporters here, Reddy said that Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu is in Visakhapatnam, Vizinagaram, and Srikakulam today to take a stock of relief and rescue operations in the districts, which bore maximum damage due to the catastrophe.

He said that chief minister has directed officials to take all necessary steps including providing drinking water, food packets, milk, and other essential commodities in the districts.

Reddy said, “When such calamity strike, all parties (political) should join hands together to help and extend support for affected families instead of criticising each other (parties).”

He also lauded efforts of people and officials of East Godavari district for providing immediate relief aid.

The minister also flagged off five lorries containing food and other essential commodities today for the flood victims in Viskahapatnam.

Meanwhile, Rajahmundry sub-collector K Vijaya Rama Raju also dispatched a lorry containing food articles in affected districts of Visakhapatnam and Vizinagaram.
