There are several stars who left the glamour industry only to join the rat-race of grabbing the chair. Maybe, it is their way to check whether the fan base helps them to make a difference in society. Whatever you may call it, politics is definitely proving to be a fallback career option for several celebs.
So here is the list of famous male celebs who are contesting Lok Sabha elections.
Shatrughan Sinha

Shatrughan Sinha was earlier in BJP. He even contested the 2014 Lok Sabha elections on BJP ticket and won. However, the actor-turned full-time politician came under BJP leaders’ radar after his blunt statements against PM Modi. His harsh words were not acceptable by the party members and they did not give him a ticket. Since, Sinha has joined the Congress and is now contesting against BJP heavyweight Ravi Shankar Prasad from Patna Sahib seat.
Babul Supriyo
Singer turned politician Babul Supriyo is going to contest Lok Sabha elections on BJP’s ticket from Asansol constituency West Bengal. The singer has given has sung songs for many top Bollywood celebs. Apart from Bollywood Babul is a well-known singer in the Bengali film industry.
Raj Babbar
Uttar Pradesh Congress president Raj Babbar is going to contest from Fatehpur Sikri seat. Earlier, the actor-turned full-time politician was an MP from Agra. He is a well-known actor and did movies like Nikaah, Sansar, Waaris and many other blockbusters. When even he gets chance he tries to do one or two films in Bollywood.
Dinesh Lal Yadav
Bhojpuri superstar Dinesh Lal Yadav aka Nirahua is contesting Lok Sabha elections for the first time on BJP ticket. The actor-turned politician is fielded against SP chief Akhilesh Yadav from Azamgarh. He is not only the actor but he is a singer, producer and television presenter. Dinesh is basically from Bihar’s Ghazipur but spend most of his childhood days in Belghoria area of Kolkata where his father used to work in a factory
Ravi Kishan
Bhojpuri actor Ravi Kishan, who was in Congress earlier, joined BJP in 2017. He even contested Lok Sabha elections from Congress ticket from Jaunpur but he was defeated by a heavy margin. Now, the actor has said to ANI that he will be contesting the elections, but his seat is not decided yet.
According to reports, cricketer Gautam Gambhir and Bhojpuri actor and Delhi BJP chief Manor Tiwari may be named in upcoming BJP list.
