Surat: In a move that has stunned car enthusiasts across India, Surat-based businessman Lavjii Badshah has become the first person in the country to bring home a Tesla Cybertruck – the futuristic electric pickup truck that has not yet been launched in India. Priced at around ₹51 lakh, this Cybertruck was specially imported from Dubai and has now reached Surat, making headlines both online and offline.
For the past 24 hours, photos and videos of the vehicle – with its Dubai number plate – have been going viral on social media, sparking massive curiosity nationwide. The truck’s bold design, futuristic build, and rarity have made it a talking point across automobile circles.
Interestingly, Lavjii Badshah is no stranger to unique and luxurious vehicles. Known for his passion for cars, he went a step further this time by getting his home’s name “Gopin” inscribed on the Cybertruck – a personal touch that stands out just as much as the vehicle itself.

Speaking to the media, Badshah said, “I’ve always admired innovation in automobile technology. The Tesla Cybertruck is not just a car – it’s a symbol of the future. It reflects courage, bold design, and technological brilliance. Owning it in India is not just about status, but about passion.”
He added, “It wasn’t easy to bring the Cybertruck to India. It had to be routed through Dubai and then Mumbai, finally arriving in Surat. But when you love something, you make it happen.”
Made for a Superhero, Driven in Surat
What makes the Cybertruck even more eye-catching is its radically different look. The vehicle is made of ultra-hard 30X cold-rolled stainless steel, making it 30 times stronger than regular truck materials. It features an exoskeleton-style design with sharp, flat surfaces – almost resembling something out of a sci-fi film.
“People stop and stare. Some even ask if it’s from a Hollywood movie set,” said a bystander who caught a glimpse of the truck as it was being transported through Surat.
The Cybertruck also boasts bulletproof glass, an adaptive air suspension system for different terrains, and a minimalist interior that screams futuristic elegance.
Launch in India Still Uncertain
While Elon Musk’s Tesla has not officially launched the Cybertruck in India, the company has recently revealed plans to enter the Indian EV market through its Model 3 and Model Y vehicles. Importing the Cybertruck is seen as a bold and personal move by Badshah, signaling how Indian luxury buyers are no longer waiting for official rollouts.
Auto analyst Rajesh Shah commented, “This is a trendsetter moment. While Tesla focuses on entry-level EVs for India, the Cybertruck’s arrival – even unofficially – shows there’s a strong appetite for high-end, unconventional vehicles among Indian buyers.”
