Navratri is nine nights of festivities dedicated to the nine forms of goddess Durga. During these nine nights, nine manifestations of the goddess are worshipped. And as we all know that all the fasts and festivals are incomplete without offering Bhog. During the nine days of Navratra, different Bhog are offered everyday to the nine Goddesses.
Here we bring you the list of bhog and its significance.

Day One: Cow’s Ghee
The first day of the Navratri is dedicated to Maa Shailputri, the daughter of Himalayas. On this day cow’s ghee is offered on the foot of the goddess. This blesses the devotee with a disease free life.

Day Two: Sugar
On the second day i.e. Dwitya, Maa Durga is worshipped as the Goddess Brahmacharini. It is said that Mata Parvati meditated to get Lord Shiva as her husband and hence she is called Brahmacharini. Sugar is offered as Bhog to the goddess. This increases the longevity of the devotee and his/her family members.

Day Three: Milk/Sweets/Kheer
Maa Chandraghanta is worshipped on Tritiya i.e. on the third day. It is believed that offering milk, kheer or sweets made from milk helps to get rid of sorrows and pains in life.

Day Four: Malpua
Fourth day or the Chaturthi is bestowed to Goddess Kushmanda. On this day, Malpua is offered as bhog to the goddess. It is a belief that it helps to improve the mental ability and decision making power of the devotee. It is also said that the universe is formed from the abdomen of Goddess Kushmanda.

Day Five: Banana
The fifth day is referred as Panchami and is dedicated to goddess Skanda Mata. Offering banana as the bhog helps to keep the physique healthy of the devotee.

Day Six: Honey
The sixth day or Shashti is dedicated to goddess Katyayani. It is a said that on getting pleased with the meditation of sage Katyayan, Durga Mata took birth as his daughter and so is called Katyayani. On this day, Honey is offered as bhog to please the goddess. This helps to make the devotee charming and attractive.

Day Seven: Jaggery
Saptami or the seventh day is dedicated to goddess Kaalratri. On this day jaggery is offered to the goddess for the removal of evil powers. Some people also tend to make dakshina or offerings to Brahmins.

Day Eight: Coconut
Goddess Mahagauri is worshipped on the eight day i.e. Ashtami. Coconut is offered as bhog to the goddess on this day. Goddess Mahagauri helps to mitigate all the sins of the devotees. There is also a tradition of donating coconuts to Brahmins on this day.

Day Nine: Til (Sesame Seeds)
This day is dedicated to goddess Siddidatri and offering sesame seeds to the goddess help to get rid of fear of death and unlikely incidents
