Maharashtra education system is spiralling downwards as fast as it can

The Maharashtra education system is spiralling downwards as fast as it can. It once had the brightest minds and some of these bright minds were housed in the bodies of the finest sportsmen. Today, it can take little pride in either. What else could one expect from a former education minister said to have a fake degree.

The exams are multiple choice. There used to be internals but now, internals are scrapped. As if this were not enough, from now on, school mathematics in Marathi will not have numbers like twenty-one, twenty-two, fifty-five etc. Double the work for teachers at the same salary. They will have to teach students, twenty and one. On these lines, the Maggi Generation will be taught. I don’t know whether to say, thank god by the time they graduate I would have retired. Parents should be afraid to send their offspring to school.

And as if all this mess is not enough, there is full fatafat fight between SSC and other boards. SSC students are belligerent because their internals were scrapped. Now parents of good sportsmen are upset junior colleges have scrapped the sports quota and are hardselling the management quota. There is more to colleges than money.

The reputation of an institution is not dependent solely on academic performance. Excellence in sports is equally important. Sad to see the way in which our education system is being eroded. I am sure the state ranks high on the world's shortlist of awards for states with the worst-ever education.

Yet another example of a Maggi Gen specimen was the news clip of this loud, unprepared girl rushing into the ICU of a Bihar hospital. The doctors and staff treating the children looked shell-shocked. Loud reporter is seen screaming at the doctor working, why are there not enough beds and why are babies still being admitted. As if all could be set right in two minutes. Outrage poured on social media, but the channel which claims to take the high road fell flat on its face.

Speaking of which, how many of you are suffering from running noses, cough and fever? Some, from malaria, no less. I say what daring of these insects and germs to inflict such suffering on us. I’d say wear maximum protection, go around the city in your fancy cars, with windows rolled up and see the pathetic puddles, stagnant water and the mess due to the metro work. But you know what, the metro bosses have openly said ‘Inconvenience today for a better tomorrow’. If you don't believe take a joy ride to Bandra-Kurla Complex and Western Express Highway. They didn't dare erect these in South Mumbai, but illnesses are across Mumbai.

Did you see how the big boss was sitting quietly and rather morose, not looking at the food and some rather expensive wine in China. Rather animated discussion Imran Khan was seen having with the Russian President Vladimir Putin, who was seen sipping wine. I AM IMPRESSED.
