Jaideep Ahlawat has been friends with actor Vijay Varma for years, since their time as students at the prestigious Film and Television Institute of India (FTII) in Pune, along with actor Rajkummar Rao. The two have also worked in movies including Chittagong (2012), Baaghi 3 (2020), and Jaane Jaan (2023.) Recently, Jaideep recalled how Vijay gave him 'gaaliyaan' after he bagged an award for the Netflix film Maharaj.
In an interview with Puja Talwar, Jaideep revealed that the dynamic between him and Vijay is 'healthy and funny,' as they support each other but can't help feeling bad when one of them edges out the other. "Vijay and I got nominated in the same category recently, and I won it for Maharaj. He was happy that day, but agle din mujhe gaaliyan de raha hai ki ye mera award kha gaya (but the next day, he cussed me out for taking his award). That’s so healthy and funny; it aligns your system," Jaideep shared.
Jaideep Ahlawat stated that 'every actor' waits for the day they become successful, and in the meantime, all they can do is ‘be ready’ to play a memorable character when the opportunity arises. He added, "Maybe a decade ago, I couldn’t do Paatal Lok. To see all three of us (him, Rajkummar Rao, Vijay) nominated for awards today, even giving it to each other…none of us imagined it."

On the work front, Jaideep Ahlawat is currently basking in the success of his recently released series Paatal Lok season 2, which is now premiering on Amazon Prime Video. The show also includes Tillotama Shome, Jahnu Barua, Nagesh Kukunoor and Prashant Tamang.
The first season of Paatal Lok was released in 2020.
