Marathi actor Tushar Ghadigaonkar died by suicide on Friday (June 20) reportedly due to lack of work and mounting stress. The 32-year-old actor had made a mark through his roles in films, television, and theatre, but had recently been struggling to find steady work.
The news of his untimely death has left the Marathi entertainment industry in shock. Fellow actor Ankur Vitthalrao Wadhave took to Instagram to express his grief and disbelief over the tragedy.
Sharing an emotional post, he wrote, "Friend why? For what? Things come and go! We should find a way but suicide is not the way! Agreed the current situation is strange but this decision cannot be made Tushar Ghadigaonkar. If you lose then we all lose."
Who was Tushar Ghadigaonkar?
Tushar was known for his performances in Marathi films like Man Kasturi Re, Bhaubali, Zombivli, and more. In Man Kasturi Re, which starred Tejasswi Prakash and Abhinay Berde, he played the role of Berde's friend.
A talented theatre artist as well, he was part of the popular Marathi musical play Sangeet Bibat Akhyan. In addition to acting, Tushar also wore the director's hat for the show Tuzi Mazi Yari and had directed several music videos under his production banner Ghanta Naad Production.
According to media reports, a few years ago, Tushar shifted from Bhandup and began living with his wife in a rented apartment near Ram Mandir in Mumbai's western suburbs, while his parents continued to stay in Bhandup.
In 2022, Tushar married a girl named Siddhi, surrounded by his close friends and family members. He had shared a series of photos on his social media. He penned in the caption, "New season begins."
