The show, Shiv Shakti: Tap Tyaag Taandav, received severe backlash online after one of the recent episodes showed Goddess Parvati being attacked by horses, while Lord Shiva stood and watched it helplessly. As a clip of the scene went viral, netizens questioned how was it even aired on TV and called it 'blasphemy'.
In the clip, Goddess Parvati can be seen being chased by several horses while she runs for her dear life. She even trips and falls, injuring herself in the process, until getting back on her feet, and tackling two horses single-handedly. All this while, Lord Shiva can be seen watching the entire ordeal helplessly.
The clip also showed an evil asura taking control over Lord Ganesha's mind and making him dance, with others around laughing at him. It ended with Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati shouting at Lord Narayana and ordering him to restore peace in Kailash.

As the episode aired, viewers were flabbergasted and they slammed the makers for "disrespecting" the Gods. "How no religious body gets offended on such self-cooked stories? (sic)," a user commented on Reddit, while another wrote, "Why does no Hindu organisation file a complaint against this show and get it off-air? Lately this production house has been distorting all the mythological series (sic)."
"Where is Bajrang Dal when you need them the most? (sic)," a viewer rued, while a user stated, "That's blasphemous! Haven't they read any purana ever? (sic)."
The makers of Shiv Shakti are yet to issue a statement on the fiasco.
Shiv Shakti: Tap Tyaag Taandav stars Raam Yashvardhan as Lord Shiva and Subha Rajput as Shakti. Srikant Dwivedi plays the role of Lord Vishnu, while Sheetal Tiwari essays the role of Goddess Lakshmi. It has been created by Siddharth Kumar Tewary.
