Hrithik Roshan, Jr NTR and Kiara Advani’s much-hyped War 2 is off to a power-packed start at the box office. The film, directed by Ayan Mukerji and produced by Yash Raj Films, earned an estimated Rs 56.50 crore in India in all languages on its second day of release, taking its total to a strong Rs 108 crore in just two days, according to early estimates from Sacnilk.
War 2 box office collection Day 2
With this, War 2 has also become one of the fastest Hindi films to enter the Rs 100 crore club.
On day one, War 2 minted Rs 51.5 crore, and the second-day jump of nearly Rs 5 crore signals strong word-of-mouth coupled with the Independence Day holiday advantage.
In Hindi, the film registered an overall occupancy of 51.52 per cent on Friday (August 15). Morning shows recorded 27.16 per cent occupancy, while afternoons surged to 58.71 per cent. Evening shows saw the highest turnout at 63.86 per cent, with night shows maintaining 56.36 per cent.
In the South, the film is performing even stronger as Tamil occupancy stood at 54.85 per cent, while Telugu occupancy peaked at 68.99 per cent, thanks to Jr NTR’s massive fan following.
War 2 vs Coolie
However, War 2 is not running solo at the box office. Rajinikanth’s Coolie, which clashed with the spy action thriller, has emerged as a formidable competitor. Coolie raked in Rs 53.5 crore on its second day, bringing its total to Rs 118.5 crore. The close collections of both films have set up one of the biggest box office battles of recent times.
Both War 2 and Coolie benefited from the Independence Day holiday, which pushed ticket sales across multiplexes and single screens. With the weekend ahead and Janmashtami falling on Saturday (August 16), trade experts expect the momentum to continue, with both films likely to post even bigger numbers on day three.

War 2 is the latest installment in YRF’s Spy Universe, starring Hrithik Roshan, Jr NTR, Kiara Advani, Ashutosh Rana, and Anil Kapoor in pivotal roles.
The film’s scale, star power, and high-octane action sequences are drawing crowds, but the box office clash with Rajinikanth’s mass entertainer ensures that the race to dominate this festive weekend remains neck and neck.
