The Tamil film, Vidaamuyarchi, starring Ajith Kumar in the lead role, fell prey to piracy and got leaked online hours after it released in theatres. The leak came after repeated requests by the makers to not indulge in piracy.
As the film opened with a positive response in the theatres, some miscreants leaked it online and as per reports, it is now available to watch online and even download it on their devices. The full HD version of the film has reportedly been put up for downloading on notorious torrent websites such as Tamilrockerz, Filmyzilla, Movierulez, Telegram and more.
Several key scenes from the film have also been leaked on X and Instagram by fans of Ajith.
While the makers are yet to react to the leak, on the eve of Vidaamuyarchi’s release, they had put up a post on social media, which read, "Every effort counts! 💪 Say NO to piracy and watch VIDAAMUYARCHI only in theatres! 🤩 FEB 6th 🗓️ in Cinemas Worldwide (sic)."
Vidaamuyarchi also stars Trisha Krishnan, Arjun Sarja, Regina Cassandra, Arav, and Ramya Subramanian in key roles. The action-packed thriller follows Ajith on a mission to rescue his wife, played by Trisha Krishnan, after she is abducted by a notorious group in Azerbaijan.
The film marks Ajith's return to the silver screens after two years. Initially, filmmaker Vignesh Shivan was on board to direct the film, but he was later replaced by Magizh Thirumeni.
The majority of the film was shot in Azerbaijan, with a brief schedule in Thailand, before wrapping up in late December 2024.
Backed by an intense storyline, Vidaamuyarchi features music by Anirudh Ravichander.
