As the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) officially closed the Sushant Singh Rajput death case, actress Rhea Chakraborty was given a clean chit. Announcing the news on social media, actress Pooja Bhatt shared a 5-year-old post by Akshay Kumar and wrote, “Truth has prevailed”.
Pooja took to her X handle on Sunday morning and shared Akshay’s old post, dated August 19, 2020. His post read, “SC directs CBI to investigate Sushant Singh Rajput’s death. May the truth always prevail (sic).”
Revisiting the post, Pooja wrote on Sunday, “The CBI’s March 22, 2025, closure report confirms Sushant Singh Rajput’s death as suicide with no foul play, clearing #RheaChakraborty and others. The truth has prevailed 🙏 #Prayers answered (sic).”
A number of netizens felt that Pooja’s tweet was a dig at Akshay’s old post, and some even egged the Sky Force actor on to comment on the case and Rhea now.
Meanwhile, the CBI, in its final report on March 22, 2025, concluded that there was no foul play involved in the death of Sushant. The Dil Bechara actor was found dead at his Bandra residence on June 14, 2020, and the CBI has now ruled it to be suicide.
Rhea, who was Sushant’s then-girlfriend, was accused by his family of cheating, extortion and illegal confinement. She was also accused of procuring drugs for the actor, and was jailed for a month by the Narcotics Control Bureau.
While Rhea has not reacted to the clean chit yet, her brother Showik Chakraborty, who was also named as an accused in the case, shared a picture with his sister on Instagram and wrote, “Satyameva Jayate”.
