Rockstar fame Nargis Fakhri will be soon seen playing Princess Roshanara in the Pawan Kalyan-starrer Telugu film Hari Hara Hari Veera Mallu, directed by Krish Jagarlamudi. The Free Press Journal caught up with the actress over an exclusive Zoom call. Excerpts:
Do you agree fans are very important for fame?
I definitely think fans are the most important because they are the ones who spend their hard-earned money to come into theatres and see us. I really appreciate them like one hundred to the fullest. There are a few fans that keep in touch with us, which is very lovely. I know they are very important to me. It feels nice.
Many of your fans think you are ravishing. How does it feel?
I am very flattered. It makes me blush a little. We belong to the glitz and glamour industry. Obviously, such tags are given to us, and we accept them humbly. It’s the love of the audience.
How do you spend your leisure time?
I have been working a lot, and I’m very happy about it. I am at my gym for almost two hours a day and seven days a week. I make sure that everything I do I must enjoy it. That’s my biggest activity. I take a lot of time to cook as I love to cook. But I don’t like to clean, which is a big problem. But being single, I have no option. I eat healthy and look for recipes. I also love to read and watch some shows and films.
When did you realise that you are beautiful? Did your mother tell you first?
I was more of a tomboy, so I never realised anything about being beautiful. My mother is also very tomboyish. She never induced this feeling about being beautiful or whatever.
Could you share a few of your beauty tips?
My routine at night is simple — I wash my face, brush my teeth, put on a little toner — cleansing my face. Also, I use eye cream and night cream, and then in the daytime, I have a different kind of cream. It’s pretty basic.
You seem to be strong, with a sleek and fit physique. What is the secret?
I think I would like to tell everybody no matter how old you are, performing exercises plus yoga has so many benefits at all age levels. So definitely, people should incorporate it into their exercises on a daily basis. For me, the mantra is a workout. Movements of the body and without movements and exercises. We have to keep moving. We should enjoy all the exercises, making it fun.
When are you planning to come to India? You also have a film with Pawn Kalyan, so will you go to Hyderabad first?
I am planning to come to India very soon, in a week or two. I will have to go to Delhi and then to Mumbai as I have a few things to complete. I will not be travelling to Hyderabad first.
Could you reveal a bit about your Telugu film with Pawan Kalyan and your character Roshanara?
I can’t really speak right now, maybe a little later. It’s a hush-hush thing. Yes, the name Roshanara sounds cute.
Are you a good dancer?
I think I’m okay. I remember those movements in Yaar Naa Miley from Kick and know every movement or song from all my dance numbers. What I did in Kick was very sexy. I also enjoyed the song number Dhating Naach with Shahid Kapoor in Phata Poster Nikhla Hero. It was lots of fun!
