The film tells the story of Tarini, a former printing press worker from Kolkata who moves to Ahmedabad to be with his son. In the new city, Tarini finds a job as a storyteller for a wealthy businessman who suffers from insomnia. Initially reluctant about having his stories published, Tarini is surprised to learn that they are being released under a pseudonym, leading to widespread acclaim. The film also explores the question of whether the true power of storytelling resides with the narrator or the writer.

Cast and production of The Storyteller

The cast of the film includes Paresh Rawal as Tarini Badopadhyay, Adil Hussain plays the role of a wealthy businessman. Other than them, the movie also features Anindita Bose, Tannishtha Chatterjee

Revathy, and Rohit Mukherjee, among others. It is directed by Annat Mahadevan and written by Kireet Khurana with Anath Mahace and Satyajit Ray. The film is produced by Pratik Basu, Shubha Shetty, Neeraj Yogesh Gor, Suchhanda Chatterjee, Salil Chaturvedi and Jyoti Deshpande under the banner of Jio Studious, Purpose Entertainment and QuestFilm.
