Bollywood actors Varun Dhawan, Pooja Hegde and Mrunal Thakur will be seen sharing the screen together for the first time in David Dhawan's upcoming comic caper, Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai, the shoot of which is underway. And now, a leaked clip from the sets of the film has left netizens fuming, as the makers seems to have remixed the iconic song, Chunnari Chunnari, in the film.
In the video which has now gone viral, Varun, Pooja and Mrunal can be seen dancing as a recreated version of Chunnari Chunnari played in the background. The song is being choreographed by Remo D'Souza, who can also be spotted in the video.
The idea of the cult song, originally starring Salman Khan and Sushmita Sen, did not sit well with ardent fans who expressed their disappointment online and begged the makers to drop the idea.
"Nooooo stop this please! (sic)," a netizen commented under the video, while another wrote, "Please. Please. No. Please (sic)." "Song ka satyanash! (sic)," a fan rued, and another said, "Please don't ruin this iconic song (sic)."
The makers are yet to comment on the backlash that the 30-sec clip has been receiving even before the film or the song's official announcement.
Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai also stars Mouni Roy in a small yet significant role, and if reports are to be believed, Jimmy Shergill, Chunky Panday and others will also feature in the film.
This will also Varun's third collaboration with his father, David Dhawan, the first two being Main Tera Hero (2014) and Judwaa 2 (2017).
