Ajay Devgn and Mrunal Thakur starrer Son Of Sardaar 2 is all set to release on August 1, 2025. It is a spiritual sequel to the 2021 release Son of Sardaar, which was a hit at the box office. While the trailer and the songs have created a good pre-release buzz, there have been reports that the movie is struggling to get screens due to high demand for Saiyaara and Mahavatar Narsimha. Meanwhile, according to a report in Bollywood Hungama, CBFC has passed Son of Sardaar 2 without any visual cuts, but a few dialogues in the film have been asked to be removed or changed.
There’s a mention of Xi Jinping, President of China, so CBFC has told the makers to either mute the name or change it. The word ‘item’ was replaced with ‘madam’. The dialogue ‘Kutte ki tarah’ has been changed to ‘Bahut buri tarah’, and a line that starts with ‘Bhagwan…’ and ends with ‘…Pe Lezim’ was asked to be replaced.

Son of Sardaar 2 has received a U/A 13+ certificate from the CBFC. The runtime of the movie is 2 hours and 27 minutes. The first instalment of the movie was a hilarious film, so the expectations from the second part are also quite high.
Son Of Sardaar 2 Vs Dhadak 2
Son Of Sardaar 2 was slated to release on July 25, 2025. But, looking at the Saiyaara fever, the makers decided to postpone the release of the movie by a week. Meanwhile, Karan Johar’s production venture, Dhadak 2 is also slated to release on August 1, 2025.
Interestingly, when Son Of Sardaar was released in 2012, it had a clash with Shah Rukh Khan’s Jab Tak Hai Jaan, which was a romantic film. Now, SOS 2 is also clashing with a romantic film.
