The much-anticipated film Sky Force, starring Akshay Kumar and debutant Veer Pahariya, soared high on its opening day, earning Rs 11.25 crore at the Indian box office for all languages. The movie, which hit the big screens on Friday, January 24, has captured the audience's attention with its patriotic theme and high-octane action sequences.
According to a report by Sacnilk, Sky Force registered an overall Hindi occupancy of 20.93 per cent on Friday. Among the metropolitan cities, Chennai recorded the highest occupancy with over 33 per cent, showcasing strong interest in the film. Mumbai followed closely with an occupancy rate of 26.75 per cent, indicating a positive response in the financial capital.
Since the opening day collection is in double digit, we can expect a good weekend collection of Sky Force. Since Akshay's last few films have failed to make a mark at the box office, so his fans surely have high expectations from the movie.
Directed by Sandeep Kewlani and Abhishek Anil Kapur, Sky Force blends action and drama, bringing to life a story of courage and resilience inspired by real events. Akshay Kumar, known for his patriotic and socially relevant films, has once again struck a chord with the audience, while Veer's debut performance has also garnered attention.
With the extended Republic Day weekend ahead, Sky Force is expected to gain further momentum at the box office. Positive word-of-mouth and Akshay Kumar's star power are likely to drive more footfalls in the coming days.
Sky Force also stars Sara Ali Khan and Nimrat Kaur. It is based on a real story that took place during the 1965 India-Pakistan War.
