Aamir Khan starrer Sitaare Zameen Par was scheduled to release on Christmas 2024. But, that didn't happen and the movie was postponed. The is directed R. S. Prasanna, and it is a remake of Spanish film, Champions. Reportedly, the shooting of the film kickstarted in May last year, and in December, it was reported that the actor has wrapped up the movie, and it is now in post-production.
However, recently at a Republic Day event in Vadodara, Aamir confirmed that the shooting of the film is going, and they have shot the climax in the city. He said, "The sequel to Taare Zameen Par is Sitaare Zameen Par, and the climax of that movie was shot in Vadodara."
Further talking about the release date, he revealed, "My next film as a lead actor is Sitaare Zameen Par. We are trying to release it by the end of this year, on the occasion of Christmas. It is an entertaining film, I like the story. The shooting of the film has begun."
Well, as soon as we read that Aamir is planning to release the film of Christmas, it reminded us that Christmas 2025 is already booked by YRF for their first female-led Spy film, Alpha which stars Alia Bhatt and Sharvari in the lead roles.
Alpha was slated to release in a March this year, but later the makers postponed the release date, and announced that it will hit the big screens on 25th December 2025. The movie is directed by Shiv Rawail who had helmed YRF's OTT series The Railway Men.
So, if Aamir decides to release his film on Christmas this year, then it will be Sitaare Zameen Par vs Alpha at the box office. So, let's wait and watch whether this clash will happen or it will be averted.
Meanwhile, Sitaare Zameen Par is a sports comedy drama and it also stars Genelia DSouza and Darsheel Safary. Earlier, there were reports that Aamir was only supposed to produce the film, and Salman Khan was approached for the movie. But, later Aamir himself decided to play the lead role.
