Bollywood’s handsome hunk Saif Ali Khan turned 48 today and on this special occasion, the Sacred Games actor will be celebrating his birthday with wife Kareena Kapoor Khan and their adorable son, Taimur. Saif Ali Khan’s career graph is nothing but a curve of ups and down.
Despite giving many flops, Saif is still remembered as one of the finest actors of Bollywood for his performances in films like Omkara, Dil Chahta Hai, Race, Hum Tum, Parineeta and others. Well, Saif Ali Khan has always been gaining attention for his personal life. The actor is married to Kareena Kapoor but there was a time when Saif surprised everyone when he secretly got married to actress Amrita Singh in 1991 who was 12 years older to him.
Interestingly, at that time Saif didn’t even debut into films. After making debut in Bollywood in 1993, Saif and Amrita decided to have a family and Amrita gave birth to Sara Ali Khan in 1993 and later gave birth to son Ibrahim Ali Khan in 2001. Saif and Amrita had spent 13 years together but in 2004 they got divorced due to Saif’s alleged closeness with model Rosa Catalano.
After the divorce, Saif and Amrita didn’t have a cordial relationship. Earlier in an interview, Saif had expressed his grief about being a bad person, husband and father. He said, “My wife and I have gone our separate ways. I respect my wife’s space. But why am I being constantly reminded of how terrible a husband I was, and how awful a father I am, I’ve my son Ibrahim’s photograph in my wallet. Each time I look at it, I feel like crying, I miss my daughter Sarah all the time. I’m not allowed to meet my children. They aren’t allowed to come to visit me, let alone stay with me. Why, Because there’s a new woman in my life who’d influence my children against their mother, That’s so much hogwash and Amrita knows it. Right now my kids are growing up with Amrita’s relatives and maidservants while she’s out working in a TV serial. Why does she need to do that, when I’m more than willing to support my family.”
Amrita solely raised her kids Sara and Ibrahim. Meanwhile, Saif’s second wife Kareena Kapoor Khan has pretty much gelled up with Sara and Ibrahim. Especially, Saif has now become a responsible person and managed to keep a balance between his kids and wives. Saif and Kareena’s son Taimur is also very close to Saif as the father-son duo always catch paparazzi’s eyeballs with their bond.
Nowadays, their munchkin Taimur has become more famous than Saif as he’s getting a lot of attention from camaraderie. While speaking about Taimur’s popularity Saif said, “I don’t have a problem with the photographers because they are just clicking his pictures. Although it’s a bit intrusive, no movie star has a privilege of being extremely private. You might be looking at the Taj Mahal and people will start clicking your pictures. You try to be normal and then everyone takes your picture. That’s mildly bothersome. But I just think he has to get used to that, because, in the end, they are just clicking a few photographs.”
Saif is now a doting father of three kids and gives many father goals. Speaking about good parenting and expectations from kids, he said, “I have given my kids the freedom and space, which is why I trust them not to misuse it. They (Sara and Ibrahim) are young, but they tell me everything. I’m always in the know of what’s happening in their lives. I don’t know if I can call myself a friend, but we are really close as family and they know they can share anything with me.”
The Sacred Games actor’s daughter Sara Ali Khan is all set to make a debut in Bollywood with film Kedarnath. Saif is very much excited to see Sara on big-screen. While speaking about Sara Ali Khan’s personality, Saif told DNA, “Sara is a sweet and a bright kid. I don’t know what I should be saying because it seems weird to praise my own daughter. But she’s hardworking, I have noticed that about her.”
We must say that Saif has now become a perfect man who takes care of his all relationships.
