Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2 has officially returned to TV screens, bringing with it a wave of nostalgia. Smriti Irani has reprised her iconic role as Tulsi Virani. However, ever since the announcement, comparisons have been drawn with Rupali Ganguly's Anupamaa, with some speculating whether the team feels threatened now that there's a strong contender for the top spot on the TRP charts.
Rupali On Anupamaa & Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2 Comparisons
While Kyunki’s producer Ektaa Kapoor slammed the comparisons, stating that it's unnecessary to pit women against each other, Rupali Ganguly has now responded in an interview with Times Now, "Ekta ji ka badhapan hai ki woh itni achi achi baatein kar rahi hai. Yeh sach hi hai. Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi is a nostalgia. Hum sab keliye badi garv ki baat hai ki woh humare channel pe show wapas aa raha hai. I don't understand how can you compare Anupamaa with Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi."

What Ektaa Kapoor Said
Earlier, in an interview with Brut, Ektaa called the comparisons 'unfair' and 'unecessary.' She said that recently she came across some videos suggesting that Anupamaa had a problem with the return of Kyunki, which she felt were in 'bad' taste.
Ektaa added, "Rupali is such a big star. Anupamaa the show, the creator Rajan… has done what nobody else could do in the last seven years. They will continue to be number 1. They should continue to be number 1."
Furthermore, Kapoor clarified that Kyunki is returning for its own purpose, to tell its story, not to compete with anyone. She continued, "We are coming in for our purpose. To tell our story. These unfair comparisons between lead characters and lead shows is so unnecessary and pitting women against each other, pitting content against each other is so uncalled for."
