Pati Patni Aur Panga - Jodiyon Ka Reality Check, an upcoming television reality show, has created quite a buzz even before its launch. Some of the most popular celebrity couples are all set to participate in the show and one of them is Rubina Dilaik and Abhinav Shukla.
On Monday, the makers revealed what one can expect from the first episode of the show. They also revealed what Rubina said about her relationship with Abhinav.
In the very first episode, Rubina will share a hilarious yet heartwarming story about how her proposal to Abhinav defied every conventional rule of romance.
According to the makers, she stated that on the morning of January 1, as she welcomed the new year, Rubina took a leap of faith and told Abhinav she wanted to grow old with him. However, his reaction was anything but the grand or romantic gesture one would expect.
Rubina recalled, "On the first day of the new year, fresh out of the shower, I looked at Abhinav and said, 'I want to grow old with you.' He paused… and just said 'Thank you.' Bas, that was it."
"For months, I kept wondering if that was a no or a maybe. And then one fine day, out of nowhere, after almost 9 months, he says, 'Me too.' That was his answer to my proposal, nine months later. That's just how we are - thoda hatke, thoda unpredictable, but very real," Rubina added.
The actress also revealed what makes them 'click'. "Our biggest panga is our difference of opinion. He's all logic and science, I’m full emotion and creativity. But maybe that’s what makes us click," she stated during premiere episode of the show.
Pati Patni Aur Panga will be hosted by Sonali Bendre and co-hosted by Munawar Faruqui. It promises to offer an unfiltered look at what makes relationships work - from small everyday victories to disagreements and dilemmas.
The show will celebrate love in its truest form, featuring celebrity couples as they take on fun games, challenges, and candid conversations that reveal the dynamics of their relationships. It will air on Colors from August 2.
Abhinav and Rubina's marriage
The couple tied the knot in a grand ceremony in Shimla in 2018. However, their marriage had hit a rough patch during the lockdown, and that is when they decided to give themselves one last shot by participating in Salman Khan's Bigg Boss 14.
It was on the show that they sorted out their differences and came out stronger with newfound love for each other. While Rubina emerged to be the winner of the show, Abhinav was lauded for being the gentleman inside the house.
In December 2024, the couple welcomed twins.
